In this symbolic scene Christ comes galloping down the corridors of space.
[Listen! Do you hear the hoof beats?] He rides at the head of a vast
heavenly cavalry, the "armies of heaven."  Millions of angels are seen here
also riding white horses.  What a scene!  Think about it. What is the
biggest herd of horses you've ever seen?  You've never seen anything like
this!

The battle lines are drawn. Good and evil face each other for the final
showdown.  The world is waiting for the KING to ride onto the field.
People are saying,  "God, how long are you going to let evil go on?  How
much longer are we going to see our loved ones taken from us in death?  How
much longer are we going to suffer, grieve, and have our hearts broken?
How much longer are we going to wait for justice?"

In answer to these questions we see Jesus come onto the field of battle
galloping upon a majestic white horse.  [Frank would love this!  It is one
of his favorite texts.  A horseman identifies immediately with a Christ on
horseback!] You know that Frank loved horses.  We were talking with Don, a
nurse, who farmed with horses on a little ranch near Colville, WA.  I said,
"Frank, you would love that wouldn't you?"  His eyes glowed:  "Yes, that's
my goal: to get out of here and go back to New Mexico and raise horses."

Even in the CCU the hospital granted 24 hour visitation privileges.  We
worried that it was too hard on Frank to have so many in the room for
hours.  "Oh, no," they said, "it is the best thing for him."  They
recognized the power of loving support, touching, and prayer.

One of the memories that will stick with me always, was the night, with the
family and friends gathered, Frank held us spellbound with stories. Would
it strike you as a bit strange, even weird for me to say that sitting
around the bed of a dying man was truly a fun time for us all, including
Frank?  It was a time when we could all forget for a few moments that Frank
was in the process of dying.  And Frank could forget that, too, for a
little while.  There had been a special bonding that occurred in the family
as we gathered around Frank. Was there no healing in answer to our prayers?
Too often we think of healing as only healing of the body of the one
suffering.  But there was a miracle of healing in relationships.  Frank,
Sr., said, as he witnessed how family, friends, and community rallied
around to pour out their love and kindness, "This has brought us all
together."

Frank told us stories as we sat around his hospital bed, exciting stories
including, in descriptive detail, about the famous horse of Alexander the
Great.  Do you remember that Owen, Chance?  What a memory of your daddy to
carry with you.  Don't you think he identified, naturally and readily with
a Christ on horseback?

What is the point of all that I am sharing?  Frank was aware of trends, of
groups, of agencies both political and religious moving to quench the flame next page
